hi!  yes, GnuMICR is under the GPL license (whatever that means for a
font...)  :)  

I have a newer version that I need to put out...  what type of fonts
does OSX want to use?  I assume either ttf or postscript is fine, but
there's still another format that maybe mac uses?  

Out of curiosity, what's the project you're working on?
